It's been about a month and a half since I've contributed to my blog...call it lack of enthusiasm or inspiration, or laziness, I'll go with whatever excuse you come up with. But if you can't be truthful on your blog then where else can you seek solace?

I became more interested in reading other blogs and found that I didn't have much to write about afterall. So I sat around for a bit...read a lot...worked...and waited for something to happen. Now that I see all my other blogging buddies have stopped posting, I figured I should start up now and start the trend again ;)

I don't have a long rant or specific topic...just a lot of randomness.
--------------------------------
One good thing is that in the past little while I've been able to catch up on my reading. I used to read nonstop ever since I learned to read, many times the same book over and over because I didn't get to go to the library (the Anne of Green Gables books can be read a million times over and be just as good the millionth time as the first), especially when I was living in Malaysia.
--------------------------------
I finally got through Malcolm X and recently finished Muhammad Ali's biography. Both we so similar, yet so different but amazing nonetheless. I like Malcolm X a little better only because you learn a lot more about his childhood and how he transformed over time. Muhammad Ali's is more a reflection on his life where he talks about specific incidents that inspired him or helped him become the Champ. But at the same time he provides some great insights on life and religion and a lot of motivational and inspirational words.

I've just started Nelson Mandela's book but judging by the 600+ pages, it'll be awhile before I can say anything about it....I hear their making a movie on his life as well, so I'm really eager to see that too. Morgan Freeman is playing Madela...he perfect for the role!

The crazy birthday season is almost over! For awhile there I thought I'd be in trouble with the amount of gifts I had to buy for family and friends. I love doing it, and I'd do more if I could...but when you get your credit card statement in the mail, there's a brief moment where I vow next year all they will get is cards and duas (prayers)!
It seems like this is the case with a lot of people actually...all these spring/summer birthdays all at once. It's a good thing I'm all the way in October so people can save their money for when mine comes around ;)

Work is crazy.
--------------------------------

So no more ramblings for now...I've been thinking about a lot of different things to write about so hopefully I'll get it down in words soon.

Til then I leave you with this:

"We spend more time learning how to make a living than we do learning to make a life...At night when I go to bed, I ask myself, "If I don't wake up tomorrow, would I be proud of how I lived today." With that question in mind, I have tried to do as many good deeds as I can...I'm just trying to make people happy and get into heaven"
